Placing Talent seek a clinical coder to join our client's clinical coding team on a contract basis in the capacity of Weekend Contract Clinical Coder.
The contract will be for an initial three months with a strong possibility of extension subject to performance.
This is a field-based role, and you will be required to be on-site at weekends at our clients’ hospital in the Essex region.
Contract: Weekends. One or two days. Two days preferable.
Working Hours: 7.5 hours per day. Option to work 10 hours per day.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Pay rate: Negotiable.
IR35 Status: Inside-IR35 regulations.
Specialties: Main specialties but not limited to; General Medicine, Maternity, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, T&O, ENT, Paediatrics, Elderly medicine, SDEC, Neonatology, Oral.
Duties and responsibilities
-You will be responsible for extracting, analysing, and translating complex clinical information from patient case notes allocating accurate diagnosis & operational procedure codes.
-Code and enter relevant data of all inpatient and day case finished consultant episodes on the hospital’s electronic patient record (EPR).
-Resolve coding queries. Raise and enhance profile of Clinical Coding.
-Code on wards and other designated areas in order to meet required coding deadlines.
Essential Criteria
-National Clinical Coding Qualification.
-Up-to-date Clinical Coding Standards Refresher Course, within last two years.
-Experience coding a range of surgical and medical specialties.
-Strong communication skills, liaising effectively with all levels of staff to resolve coding problems.
