Placing Talent seek a clinical coder to join our client's clinical coding team on a contract basis starting in January 2025. ACC is preferable but not essential.
The contract will be for an initial three months with a possibility of extension subject to performance.
This is a field based role, and you will be required to be on-site Monday - Friday at our clients’ hospital in the South London region.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Work to be completed during core working hours.

As a member of the Clinical Coding team your key duties will be to ensure a high standard of coding completeness and accuracy for activity undertaken for our client, while also meeting national and local data submission deadlines
You will be required to abstract, analyse, and accurately code clinical information from patient records (paper and electronic) across all specialities using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 Classifications in accordance with National Standards and the clients’ Policy and Procedures guidelines.
Documentation for coding is a mix of paper and electronic documents, with an emphasis on moving towards a fully electronic patient record.
Essential Criteria
-You should have a track record of high-quality coding, ensuring accuracy and timeliness at all times.
-National Clinical Coding Qualification preferable but not essential.
-Up to date Clinical Coding Standards Refresher Course attendance.
-Have recent experience of using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications (current version) in an acute hospital setting
-Have extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
-Be experienced in clinical coding for a wide range of specialties
-Be proactive, flexible, and supportive towards an electronic way of working as the client develops its electronic patient record
